In March of this year, the PROYA Foundation, in collaboration with the Charity Federation of Xihu District and Women's Federation of Xihu District, Hangzhou, launched its first charitable trust project - the PROYA "Power of Beauty" Women's Care Initiative. As of the end of August, the project has conducted 6 activities targeting women, children, their families, and elderly females.
Summer Study Tour for Disadvantaged Children. More than 50 children visited the people's court for the first time, where they observed a trial proceedings firsthand and gained practical experience through a mock trial. At the Liangzhu Museum, guided by docents, they explored the long history and unique charm of Liangzhu culture. These children also made mooncakes together, enjoying hands-on activities.
Professional Training for Marriage and Family Mediators. A total of 40 trainees, including grassroots women's federation cadres and members of the Xihu Women Caring Group, participated in this training. Former Director of the Women's Rights Department of the Hangzhou Women's Federation and current President of the Hangzhou Marriage and Family Association, Ms. Tao Tao, shared her insights on "Practical Work in Mediation of Marriage and Family Disputes in the New Era", discussing strategies and methods for mediating marriage and family disputes in the context of the new era. Lawyer Jiang Sirui, an expert from the 12338 hotline, provided detailed explanations on techniques for addressing issues such as domestic violence, labor protection for female employees, sexual harassment, and marital and family conflicts.
Heartwarming Care Activities Bring Warmth to the Elderly. Volunteers, under the leadership of the Women's Federation of Xihu District, visited 10 elderly individuals in need in Cuiyuan Section 1 of Xihu District. They delivered essential living supplies such as rice and oil, provided housekeeping services, and engaged in warm, face-to-face conversations with the elderly.
Cultural and Recreational Activities for the Elderly at the Welfare Home. From June to August, elderly residents at the Xihu District Social Welfare Center participated in three dance classes, learning fan Chinese dance and finger dance. These physical exercises promote blood circulation and stimulate brain activity, helping to prevent diseases.
PROYA's "Power of Beauty" women's care campaign series, like meticulously orchestrated symphonies, has brought warmth and strength to women of different ages and needs. Looking forward to the future, we hope to witness many more moments of "Power of Beauty" together!
