In the remote northwestern border of China, in Qiemo County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, primary and secondary school students are continuously enhancing their athletic skills and experiencing the joy of sports through the "One County, One Dream" regional sports dream class public welfare project sponsored by PROYA.

1.Revitalization of the Sports Court: The Transformation of a Dilapidated Basketball Court.

The brand-new PROYA Charity Basketball Court is located at the No. 1 Primary School in Qiemo County. Prior to the construction, the area was a flat cement ground in front of the teaching building, where several iron frames stood. This was the space where the children used to play and engage in activities after class every day. Running and jumping on hard surfaces posed a high risk of joint injuries and increased the likelihood of falls and other accidents. After nearly two months , a safe and environmentally friendly nano-silicon PU basketball court covering an area of 1,258 square meters has been officially put into use. The red, green, and white court has brought immense joy to the children at the primary school.

2. Chasing Basketball Dreams: From the Desert to the Sea.

This summer, 18 teachers and students from Qiemo traveled over 4,000 kilometers from the heart of the desert to the beautiful coastal city of Weihai, participating in an unforgettable summer public welfare basketball camp. Zhang Qingpeng, head coach of the Tianjin Men's Basketball Team, and his team provided professional basketball training for the children. Zuli Humaer shared that she learned a lot during the 5-day training camp, including pick-and-roll techniques, team coordination, body stretching, and standard shooting. In addition to their training, the children visited renowned universities, experienced the ocean, and created shell paintings by hand.

3. Passionate Collision: Charity Basketball Game Ignites the Campus.

At the beginning of the new school term, 24 boys' and girls' basketball teams from 12 primary schools across the county gathered at the No.1 Primary School of Qiemo County to compete in the 2024 Qiemo County Primary School Basketball Tournament on the newly constructed PROYA Charity Basketball Court. After two days of intense competition, Qiemo County No. 10 Primary School successfully defended its titles as champions in both the boys' and girls' categories, showcasing consistently high-level performances.

4. Travel Thousands of Miles: Qiemo Students Embark on Study Tours to Go Somewhere Far Away.

As part of the "One County, One Dream" public welfare project, PROYA sponsored three student teams from Qiemo County to participate in the "Going Somewhere Far Away" study tour during the summer vacation. The Hemei Dream Team visited Xi'an to see the Terracotta Warriors and had the opportunity to create their own terracotta figurines. The Aoyou Team explored the secrets of the ancient city walls and the delicacies of Xi'an, immersing themselves in the charm of this millennia-old capital. The Panda Balangzai Dream Team, driven by curiosity about the Bashu region, traveled to Chengdu to uncover the mysteries of pandas and appreciate the allure of Sichuan opera.

Under the illumination of the "One County, One Dream" initiative, the children of Qiemo County are sweating it out on the basketball court, writing their own growth stories. As the project continues to progress, we look forward to seeing more children find joy in sports, discover themselves through challenges, and let their dreams shine brightly in this desert oasis.
